Women are moving more towards social media, according to this report, (http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2009/06/new_twitter_research_men_follo.html) women make up 55% of the twitter population, and probably more since that study was done.

Social media allows women to connect with others like them, share ideas, receive support and advice in an instant.  Need some help picking out a VA? Or the right software? Or suggestions on how to handle a problem?  You can pick up that loveable smartphone send a quick question in 140 characters or less and, within minutes, you will have hundreds of responses at your finger tips!

Social media also allows you to network and connect with people that might not have been possible otherwise.  The top people within your industry, people to hire, famous people…it’s called social “networking” for a reason.

Women are able to use social media to help form bonds, create a stronger voice in a world where men are still ruling many aspects. Women are taking over social media…watch out!  And if you haven’t already, join the conversation and strengthen yourself and women everywhere.

Social media is indeed amazing. I think women are doing a great job of connecting via their social networks and when you’re a woman who’s just starting out, you really shouldn’t be afraid to get into the social media bandwagon because the benefits are great!

In addition to finding information and answers to questions, sharing your expertise and building your own platform of influence are now possible for everyone through social media.
