As you look for ways to market your business, you’ve probably come across video marketing.  Many business owners don’t understand the concept behind this term and have many misconceptions.

How to Use Video Marketing

There are two ways you can look at video marketing:

First, you use video to market a product or service.  Specific videos are created that describe your product or service and peak people’s interests. The way this is done is by sharing the benefits your customers will receive by using your product or service.

For example if you sell online courses, your video could show your product (the course) and highlight some of the key benefits your customers will receive by taking that course.

Second, you can use video marketing to brand your business. These videos are used in conjunction with your social media campaigns. Creating videos is a great way to create brand awareness and interest.

These types of videos are meant to be shared. Businesses that use these types of videos market them across multiple distribution channels. When you do this, you are able to have the same message going out at the same time. This in turn, gives you more online visibility. The more your business is seen, the more chances you have of capturing the attention of your ideal audience.

Don’t Forget Your Blog

One area many businesses neglect is their blog. There are many types of videos you can use here as well. For example:

  1. How to videos are extremely popular.
  2. Talk about an upcoming event.
  3. Review a product.
  4. Create an interview series.
  5. Share business tips and advice.

Regardless of the size of your business, you can use both of the methods above for creating videos for your business. Always have in mind as you create videos that your goal is not only to use video but brand your business as well.

Currently about 60% of Internet traffic is video driven. It is estimated by 2018 that number will jump to 76%. This tells you that your business needs to start creating a video marketing strategy so you can be seen and heard locally and globally—24/7—by your ideal customers.
