Social Media Recruiting in 2013 [Infographic]

May 6, 2013 By Susan Gunelius

The majority of recruiters use social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter to find and assess job candidates, but which companies and organizations are leading the way with social media recruiting? You might be surprised.

According to the data in the infographic from RecruitLoop shown below, government agencies and departments are surprising leaders in social media recruiting.

Here are some of the highlights from the infographic:

Facebook:
Based on number of likes, Marriott Hotels is the biggest Facebook recruiter (690,000 likes) followed by the Royal Marines (334,000 likes), and Dell (333,000 likes).

YouTube:
Defence Jobs Australia is the most viewed YouTube company recruiting channel with nearly twice as many views (5 million) than the next most viewed YouTube company recruitment channel, Google (2.27 million views). Ranking third is the Royal Navy’s YouTube channel with 1.8 million views.

Twitter:
The recruiters with the most followers on Twitter are Twitter with 340,000 followers, Google with 209,000 followers, and Intel with 177,000 followers.

Social Recruiting Success Rates

Recruiters are finding the most success prospecting and hiring new employees from LinkedIn. 93% of recruiters use LinkedIn to find recruits and 89% of them have hired people through their LinkedIn recruiting efforts. Facebook ranks second with 66% of recruiters using Facebook to find new employees, but only 26% report having hired someone as a result of those efforts. Twitter recruiting comes in a distant third with 54% of recruiters prospecting for new employees using Twitter, but just 15% have made a hire from those efforts.

You can see all of the details in the infographic below.

I thought Facebook leads until this post surprise me that the most successful social media recruiting is LinkedIn. Maybe because smaller number of users than Facebook. But this post helps in determining what social media to rely on.
