5 Steps to Launching a LinkedIn Business Page

March 15, 2023 By Andrea J. Sok

linkedin business page

Do you need a LinkedIn business page? More than 58 million companies are listed on LinkedIn and 2.7 million companies post daily. Why a business page? If you’re running a small business or startup, your personal page may be front and center as you serve as the face of that business, but a LinkedIn business page expands your reach and gives you additional real estate to market your product or services.

LinkedIn is an effective platform to be seen, connect with prospects, and establish your position as an industry leader. So, yes, launch that business page! Here is how to do it in five easy steps.

1. Do You Have a LinkedIn Profile?

This is a must to create and manage your business page. Your business page is connected to your LinkedIn Profile. Don’t worry, you can add additional people who can manage the page once you have set it up.

2. Select the Page Type

When setting up your business page, you can choose from three types: Company, Showcase, or Educational Institution. Most will fall under the first, which is best for businesses of all sizes. Showcase pages are subpages associated with existing pages and are great for highlighting a specific product or initiative. This is something to consider once your main business page is up and thriving. Educational Institution pages are for educational institutions like universities or schools.

3. Fill Out Your Page Information

After selecting your page type, you will need to fill out the basic information about your business, including your company name, logo, and website URL. Take advantage of all the real estate your page has to offer including a header image and contact form. You can also add a tagline and a brief description of your business.

4. Content, Content, Content

Once your page is set up, it is critical to share content. This can include posts, articles, and other relevant information that will help engage your audience and build your brand.

5. Grow Your Page

Finally, it is important to promote your LinkedIn business page to attract followers and build your network. You can do this by sharing your page on other social media channels, adding a follow button to your website, and encouraging your employees to follow and share your page as well.

Your LinkedIn business page can be a great asset. Take advantage of all the features the page has to offer and remember to leverage your page in your communications and marketing.
