You Unique Selling Proposition, An Essential Ingredient To Success

April 25, 2012 By Deborah Skye King

Lately, I’ve surrounded myself with many powerful women. They are everywhere in my life. Thankfully, there’s an abundance of them, and I’m so grateful for that. What’s the common denominator? They are all boldly living their purpose!They all have found their unique selling proposition and know that it is an essential ingredient to their success.

It changes how you take action, deal with challenges, and your ability to be in situations with your eyes open to new possibilities. Knowing your USP enables your clients to know exactly what they are getting and what you are selling. Your USP is the benefits and positioning that has you stand out from the crowd.

As  more women entrepreneurs coming online to start their own businesses, and stay at home mother’s take the leap to go online with their ideas and new business ventures, understanding that marketing your USP will have you take the lead in your industry.

Here are some key points to be aware of:

* understand your market

* feed the needs of your market, get to know their wants and likes, desires so you can be the one who fulfills them

* do surveys with your current clients and ask them directly what they would like you to produce or services that you can provide to them

*put up a WordPress site and blog weekly sharing stories of experiences of success

* educate your audience so they understand everything that you provide and the outcomes you offer

* make sure to do monthly free training calls to capture leads of ideal prospects

These are only a couple of things you can do, there are hundreds of actions you can take in your business to express and share your unique selling proposition, your brand.

Over the years I’ve done extensive research on how others have been successful in attracting customers. What I realized is that people buy things and join opportunities because they want to gain something of  value.  I’ll let you in on a little secret… I reach only the prospects that are most likely to have strong need or desire for the benefits I provide, I offer the solution and they recognize that I can fill their need.

By sharing my experience, knowledge, strength and hope with others, I’ve been able to let people know I’m a REAL person. I’ve learned that the trick to attracting people to my products and service was that my site had to sell ME. The brand I built is ME and that’s how I differentiated myself from YOU, and it’s such a powerful concept to embrace. Basically, how I built my business was by being myself, and that’s what attracts people to me.

By taking a stand, sharing my voice, expertise and knowledge, I stand above the crowd by taking the lead in my market, I saturate my industry, you can too with the know how and strategies that will have you and your business creating a 6 or 7 figure income.

Take a look at five mentors or experts in your field, watch what they do, get on their email list and follow their moves.  Do not copy them, but see how they have created a successful and prosperous business model. If you want to learn by partnering up with some women that you admire, this is the best way to learn first hand and know how they operate their systems and organize all aspects of their business.  It will also show you how they sell from their USP.
