Stop The Overwhelm! Creating Order In Your Business

June 6, 2012 By Deborah Skye King

I just received an email letting me know that I can download over a $1,000,000 as a gift if I put my name into a poll to see if I was to be chosen. Really? There is already such an overwhelming amount of information consuming our sacred time and vying for our attention, that the amount of overwhelm is consuming us.

The first time I recognized this online was a book launch claiming that I would receive $10,000 in bonuses to purchase a book for $19.00, I was disappointed in the author and her approach to selling her book, trusting it was a great read, but I was so turned off by her marketing tactic that I never bought the book as it felt jaded and obscured by this overwhelming sense of greed taking place online with launches.

I have now seen this become a trend in the market place, launches where you get $1,000’s of dollars worth of bonus gifts yet the actual purchase is usually less that $100. Great for many, but in reality, it leads to overwhelm, over consumption of time and need and leaves future buyers making decisions based on what they are going to get beyond the actual purchase itself.

Are you feeling this way also? Too many options, ebook downloads, MP3’s to listen to or catch up on? The solution? Clear up your inbox and only purchase what will serve you TODAY. I know personally that I am highly invested in my education and purchase courses and programs that lead me deeper into entrepreneurial success that are being presented by great teachers. I find that I can buy many courses because there really is great content out there and the list is growing and expanding of what to choose from.

I have always made decisions based on how this investment will affect my future and provide a great ROI. Today, my approach is much different. I question myself how an investment will change my life today. If the impact is going to be exponential and results orientated, I purchase. If the community is going to support me today, then I will purchase. If the coach or presenter speaks directly to my personal needs in the moment, I will purchase.

I no longer look into the future to speculate how it will impact my growth and business but ask how well am I keeping myself in the present moment to feed my current needs that will lead to a solid foundation in all aspects of my life, not only my business as it’s an extension of my life. What about you? How are you making decisions based on how long or quickly do you see a ROI? Love to hear your comments so I can fulfill your needs in the marketplace.
