The One Page Business Plan and Why it Works

September 23, 2011 By Hilary Brooks

The Business Plan; sometimes the most daunting task of starting a business.  It is often thought of as a lengthy document, meant to map out every possible second, expense, possible issue your business could encounter…ever.

As times change, so does the business plan, and many people are now proponents of the one page business plan.

This is meant to be something you actually look at, a tool you use to help you keep moving forward.  You can look at it, quickly see your goals, budget and what tasks you need to complete and how to complete them on one page.

Business plans are an important part of entrepreneurship and helps to keep everyone on track working towards the same goals. The one page version is a key tool in business and can often give you the leg up needed to overcome any obstacles.

The one page business plan keeps your goals in the front of your mind, rather than the obstacles.  This is how businesses should be run, the goals propelling you forward so that you barely notice the bumps…no matter how big they are.

More information on one-page business plans can be found in Small Business, Big Vision.
