2009 American Business Awards Introduces People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Products

April 11, 2009 By Susan Gunelius

I was asked to share the following information here on Women On Business, and I’m happy to do so.

Voting Now Open for General Public to Choose Their Favorite New Products and Two Chances to Win $1,000 Gift Card

Organizers of The American Business Awards (www.stevieawards.com/aba) today announced that, for the first time ever, the general public are able to cast their votes for their favorite new products of the year in the People’s Choice Stevie® Awards for Favorite New Products, a new public voting system.  Voting is now open at http://peopleschoice.stevieawards.com.

Each new product or service nominated in The 2009 American Business Awards will be included in people’s choice voting automatically.  In addition, the organizers have created special categories to celebrate popular business and consumer products, such as:

  • BlackBerry Storm and T-Mobile G1 with Google in “Favorite PDA/Smartphone” category
  • Apple iPod Touch and Roku Netflix Box in “Favorite Gadget” category
  • Pandora Radio and Wikipanion in “Favorite iPhone App” category

To encourage voting, organizers will award $1,000 Amazon.com gift cards to two randomly chosen voters.  Voters increase their chance of winning with each category in which they vote.  Participants can only cast one vote per category and all votes are final. Voting concludes on June 1.

Winners of the People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Products will be determined in early June and honored at the ABA’s seventh annual awards gala in New York on June 22.

All organizations operating in the U.S.A. are eligible to submit entries to The American Business Awards – public and private, for-profit and
non-profit, large and small. The final entry deadline is April 30.  Entries will be accepted in dozens of categories from Executive of the Year, Company of the Year, and Best New Product or Service to Best Web Site and Best Annual Report.  For more information and entry details, visit:
www.stevieawards.com/aba.

About The Stevie Awards:  Stevie Awards are conferred in four programs: The American Business Awards, The International Business Awards, The Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and The Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service.  Honoring organizations
of all types and sizes and the people behind them, the Stevies recognize outstanding performances in the workplace worldwide.  Learn more about The Stevie Awards at www.stevieawards.com.
