The Top Business Lesson I Learned This Year

December 19, 2012 By Susan Gunelius

NEWS AND INSIGHTS UPDATE:

What’s the best business lesson you learned this year? That’s the question the team from Kickstart Kitchen is asking, and already, some great lessons are included in their Lessons Learned in 2012 Pinterest board.

You can follow the link below for all of the details, but here are a few of the great lessons that included on the list so far:

“Trust yourself. Take big leaps even when it’s not perfect.” — Krystina Feucht of Kickstart Kitchen

“Translate big goals into small daily bites.” — Sarah Peverhouse of There She Goes

“Whatever scares you the most is often the key to massive success.” — Claire Kerslake of Loving Life with Diabetes

What is the top business lesson you learned this year? Share it in the comments below.

Here is a business lesson that I’d like to add to the list: “Evaluate and find your focus again. It’s easy to lose your focus when you’re inundated with business priorities each day. Take the time to remember why you’re in business in the first place. Assess where you are right now, and then make the necessary changes to ensure you’re laser-focused on the right things to reach your goals. Reduce the clutter to increase your success.”

Your lesson is right on, Susan. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day to day and we forget to step back and take a look from another angle.

Thanks, Jules. I know I’m guilty of losing focus and have to force myself to sit down, slow down, and refocus.

By the way, I love the Pinterest board Kickstart Kitchen created for this topic! Great idea and so inspirational! I was thrilled to find it and share it with the audience here on Women on Business. I think they’ll love it as much as I do!
