Top 8 Questions About Video Marketing Answered

February 5, 2015 By Toni Nelson

video tv screens multimediaIf you wanted to get to know someone, what steps would you take? Would you invite them to lunch or for a cup of coffee? It’s always easier to get to know someone when they are sitting across the table from you.

What happens in your business when you can’t reach your ideal customer/client and have that face-to-face interaction? How do they get to know you?

You introduce yourself via video.

Online video marketing is an effective way to reach your audience locally, globally, 24/7. The problem is there are so many unanswered questions that it seems too daunting a task to even think about this marketing strategy.

That’s why I’m going to answer the top 8 questions people have when it comes to video marketing:

1. Do I really need videos?

There are more than 1 billion unique users that visit YouTube each month. Online videos are the easiest way to attract new people and help them discover what your business does and how it can help them. Videos are also another way for you to rank in search engine results.

2. Does my ideal client really want to see videos?

They do if those videos are informative and engaging. People will watch and share videos that interest them. How-to videos are one of the most popular types of videos people like to watch.

3. Is one video enough?

The question should really be, “Do I want to give my ideal customers multiple opportunities to find out how I can help them?” You should create several videos that teach others about you, your products, and services to maximize your online exposure. Multiple videos will also help increase brand awareness.

4. What type of video should I create?

The top video you should create is what I call the leadership video. This video is your way of introducing your knowledge and expertise to the world. This video could be one where you are speaking directly to the camera or it could be a video where someone is interviewing you.

Another great video is the testimonial video. This is powerful because someone else is saying the results they received from working with you or using  your products or services.

5. Can videos really increase my sales?

Did you know video decreases the time it takes a viewer to make a buying decision by over 70%? People are 72% more likely to purchase a product or service when video is used.

6. Aren’t videos expensive?

How much do you currently pay for advertising? Does it last for years? When done properly, your video can. That means the cost of your video can be spread over multiple years.

7. Where do I put my videos?

People tend to think YouTube is the only place to put their videos, but there are more places than that. You can put your video on your blog, website, Facebook, Twitter and Google+ to name a few.

8. How do I drive traffic to my videos?

  • Create quality videos.
  • Use search engine optimization.
  • Make your videos personal, and people will start connecting with you.
  • Create effective headlines.
  • Create an interesting thumbnail to capture people’s attention.

Here’s an interesting statistic that will help get you on board with video marketing:  posts with videos see a bump in retweets of 28%.

How are you using video marketing in your business?
