I couldn’t agree with you more. Although the industry is changing, it is not the norm to have a woman in my position in the construction field. I try and hear what the client is saying underneath their words. We all speak the language of our industry and I feel that my job is to translate for the client their concepts into a dream home that can be built. It is equally important for me to speak to the client in THEIR language. It is a learning process for us both. I follow my intuition closely while looking for the common ground to stand on, thus allowing communication to flow freely both directions.

Great information in your article! I believe intuition is very important and over looked in this process. As we know women are more intutive and it is often dismissed, “I have a gut feeling” just doesn’t fly in the face of the main marketing companies. But it will be more and more important as we move into the next era of emotional business.

I agree with all of it. Most importantly, the intuition, as this is what we do when in doubt, when we don’t know for certain; we rely on our intuition. The trick is believing in yourself enought to rely on your intuition. It takes courage to do this and you have to be well grounded in your own beliefs, and not afraid of criticism; not afraid to be different, as that is how you will be viewed when you ‘shoot from the cuff’.

The action plan is the difficult one…knowing what to do with the information. Too many times we don’t know what to do. Reading everything we can get our hands on helps and this is where Social Media comes in handy. There are many experts out there and many who post blogs and share this with us through FB, or Twitter. I try to follow the important ones and keep up with their writings.

Constand education of ourselves is critical in a world that is ever changing.

I am so far from the world of sales and strategy and motivation that it was difficult for me to relate. It seemed a very powerful presentation. One phrase sort of leaped out at me, “In this new phase of my life”. Having reached a senior age one of the things I have learned is that every single morning is, “a new phase of my life”!
i have this little chant…………HOT DAMN, ANOTHER DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!
