And that’s a great suggestion. I think there’s a lot of pressure to avoid downtime in the workplace, but true creativity will never come if you don’t give your mind the time and space to wander.

I feel that you’ve really hit on a great point with #2. Creativity can’t be taught or forced, but it certainly can be strengthened and honed; and it’s the creative, out-of-the-box types that will always be the linchpin in any organization.

And sometimes the best way to get creative with a task is to relax — give a stretch and let your mind wander for 5 minutes before setting to it.
