I would add that it’s incredibly important to keep your LinkedIn profile fresh and dedicate time to building a smart network of people who can both influence and help you now, five years form now or ten years from now.

Additionally it’s important to seek out, and properly utilize mentors, even if you are not currently in the workforce.
